Geneva International Airport is located on the border of two countries - Switzerland and France, in the Alps at 370 meters above sea level near the village of Quantrand. Due to its location, this airport is especially popular with lovers of alpine ski resorts. In less than a couple of hours you can reach the largest ancient resorts, such as Chamonix and the famous Courchevel. Therefore, at the airport, all the car rental leaders representing car rental services are represented.
The building of the Geneva airport is divided into two parts - Swiss and French. There are rental desks in both parts, which allows you to choose the right ones, depending on the choice of the country of your further stay. Given the focus of the main activities of tourists in this region, a car is needed to move between the ski slopes. Of course, with ski equipment or a snowboard it is much more convenient in terms of movement than travel by bus.
The airport has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the proximity of the capital of Switzerland allows you to stroll around the city and visit its main attractions during connections. For those who wish to stay longer in Geneva, most local hotels offer a free shuttle service. However, due to this location from 12 to 4 nights, the airport is closed for flights to reduce noise at night. But waiting at the airport will be pleasant for passengers, as it is recognized as one of the most comfortable and equipped in Europe. There are ATMs, a medical center, a waiting area with free internet, Duty Free shops where you can buy famous Swiss chocolate and cheese, and a cafe where tourists are offered to try real Alpine dishes.
In addition to a rented car, there are other ways to get to the city. A railway was made to the airport, which in 6 minutes allows you to be in the center of Geneva. Near the exit from the terminal there is a bus stop for regular buses going to Lake Geneva and many of the nearest cities in Europe.
