ALAMO Rent A Car is the third largest rental company in the United States. Based in Clayton, Missouri, ALAMO Rent A Car has offices in the United States, Canada, Mexico, North and South America, Africa, Europe, Australia and some Caribbean islands. The company began to build its network of car distribution points in 1974, with several offices located in the state of Florida. ALAMO Rent A Car gained public fame by introducing an advanced program at that time without a limit mileage, with which customers could travel by rental car, at any distance, without incurring additional costs. In the USA, the company's fleet consists mainly of cars of the brand General Motors, Toyota, Nissan and Volvo.
By 2005, ALAMO Rent A Car became a leader in servicing foreign customers visiting North America and was the first to introduce an advanced on-line car issuing system. The company has opened more than 171 self-service offices in 63 points of delivery of cars in the USA. In 2007, ALAMO Rent A Car became the official Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort car rental provider.
At the end of 2007, ALAMO Rent A Car was acquired by the Enterprise Holding, which owns the largest rental company in North America, Enterprise Rent A Car.
