The international airport of Valerio Catullo Villafranca in the city of Verona receives almost 4 million romantics annually who come to see Juliet's balcony and recall one of the saddest and most beautiful love stories. However, this is far from the only reason to visit the city - in the center of Verona you can see the Arena, which has survived from 30 BC, which competes in scale with the Roman Colosseum. Most of the buildings and bridges were built in the XII century, and the local museum has one of the largest collections of antiquities in Europe.
The two terminals of Verona Airport share the responsibility for servicing flights for arrivals and departures from the city. In the tourist season, an influx of tourists slows down and creates rather long lines, so it is better to arrive at the airport in advance. You can wait in one of the cafes and restaurants or spend time in the Duty Free store, where, however, the prices are much higher than in the city - to buy parmesan, Italian wines and truffles is more profitable in Verona supermarkets. If necessary, you can leave luggage in the storage room in the first terminal, and rent a car in the second.
You can get to the city in 10-15 minutes by taxi, which can be ordered at the taxi stand on the ground floor, the trip will cost about 25-30 euros to the city center. An express bus runs every 20 minutes from the exit of the first terminal to Verona Central Station. You can rent a car at the rental car rental desk on the ground floor.
Take a stroll through the old streets of the beautiful city between colorful houses, look at it from a height of 84 meters of the Lamberti Tower, visit the 14th century Castelvecchio Castle and enjoy the sounds of the organ in the Cathedral of Our Lady. The best pizza according to old family recipes can be ordered at Piazza delle Erbe, complemented by local beer, “Romeo and Juliet”. And then, having rented a car, go to the picturesque Lake Garda - the largest and most beautiful lake in Italy.
